Why is my Skoda Octavia having trouble starting? I have a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI and it won't start. If it does, it starts and is lumpy for a short bit then dies, does not get over 1000rpm. Mark helpful. 40. Thor308 answered 3 years ago. Start with the filter , if your fuel filter clogs then you won't get proper gas pressure. The cost for this is usually less than $15. If it turns out to be the pump you would want to replace the filter anyways. 1 people found this helpful.
